More student-generated audio

Hi everyone! Here is a podcast that a student created for extra credit in my online class this spring. I'll append the actual assignment below.

Extra Credit #2

Week Four Summary

For this extra credit assignment, you are asked to create an audio recording (3-5 minutes) summarizing your learning experiences during Week Four in PAC442 Section B. What did you learn that was new to you? What would you like to know more about, and why? Which discussion threads were the most interesting to you?

I’ll look for the following in your recording:

  • A definite introduction and conclusion.
  • Your ideas are well organized, clearly communicated, and connect tightly to a central thesis.
  • The listener is left with a good understanding of your perspective and personal experiences.
This assignment is worth up to 5 extra credit points (50% of a weekly homework assignment).

You can use the free Audacity software to record your audio - see:

http://online.uis.edu/oakley/Sp08/tutorials/Audacity/

Alternatively, some of you probably can record audio in *.wav format using your cell phone - I know that is what Yuriy did for his audio introduction.

Finally, if you don’t want to record audio, you can simply post a text message addressing the same issues - but that will only be worth a maximum of 2 extra credit points.

Since this extra credit assignment deals with Week Four, it must be submitted by noon central time on 15 February 2008 in order to receive the maximum credit.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about this assignment.
